Higher levels of certain vitamins and minerals during pregnancy—specifically copper, manganese, and vitamin B12—may lower the risk of developing high blood pressure in midlife, according to new research from the American Heart Association (AHA). In a long-term study of women in Massachusetts, those with higher levels of these nutrients during early pregnancy had significantly lower blood pressure nearly two decades later.
