This article provides an overview of new testing by university researchers which revealed that many menstrual and incontinence products contain harmful “forever chemicals” known as PFAS.
Dr. Graham Peaslee of Notre Dame and his graduate student Alyssa Wicks found low levels of fluorine—a marker for PFAS—in about half of the more than 100 products tested. They shared these findings in a briefing ahead of their presentation at the American Chemical Society’s science conference on August 13.
