A new study from the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) shows maternal mental health is closely linked to infant deaths. The authors analyzed community-level factors that make mothers vulnerable to poor health, determined the impact of these factors on infant mortality, and provided recommendations for researchers, pediatric providers, insurers, and policymakers to improve maternal and infant outcomes.
